Job summary

Riot Platforms in Rockdale, Texas is seeking a hands-on Critical Operations Engineer to join our data center team. You will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical systems to ensure uptime and safety in a mission-critical environment.

The role may require day, swing, or night shifts. Growth opportunities exist through advanced maintenance programs and exposure to integrated building systems and controls.

Qualifications

• 0–2+ years in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, or technical maintenance (internship/trade school acceptable)
• 3–6+ years in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, or related technical field
• 6+ years in electrical, HVAC, mechanical, or controls with advanced troubleshooting and vendor coordination

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on operations and maintenance across electrical or mechanical systems to ensure uptime, efficiency, and safety.
• Apply mechanical and electrical theory to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot facility systems with integrated controls.
• Complete work orders accurately and on time within the asset management system.
• Utilize control room systems to monitor alerts, respond to events, and inspect equipment for risks and inefficiencies.
• Respond independently to facility events using established procedures and escalate when necessary.
• Troubleshoot, evaluate, and recommend system improvements or upgrades for efficiency and maintenance programs.
• Author procedures and execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities and contribute to maintenance planning.
• Coordinate onsite maintenance activities with vendors and contractors, including scheduling and ensuring site standards.
