Job summary

JLL in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Critical Environment Specialist to provide advanced hands-on engineering support for mission-critical data-center operations. You will maintain UPS, generators, cooling, and building automation, ensuring uptime and safety in 24/7/365 environments.

This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership to mentor technicians, and the ability to work across shifts and travel up to 5%.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in critical environment operations or data centers.
• Experience operating and maintaining mission-critical facilities with focus on reliability.
• Knowledge of UPS, emergency generators, precision cooling, electrical distribution.
• Experience with CMMS (Corrigo) and DCIM platforms.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams, PIDs, and mechanical drawings.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 5%.
• Able to work in high‑pressure, time‑sensitive environments with safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced hands-on technical support at site during scheduled and emergency activities.
• Operate 24/7/365 critical environment engineering activities and shift coverage.
• Directly operate and maintain critical facility infrastructure (UPS, generators, cooling, fire suppression, building automation).
• Monitor real-time system performance and environmental parameters to support uptime targets.
• Use Maintenance Management Systems (Corrigo/CFIMS) for work orders and asset documentation.
• Act as technical point of contact for clients during operations and maintenance.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineers and technicians.
