Job summary

Ajax Building Company, part of the STO Building Group, is seeking a Senior Superintendent to lead field execution of complex mission critical construction projects, including data centers. This on-site leadership role oversees field teams, coordinates subcontractors, and drives safety, schedule, quality, and budget.

You will own day-to-day activities, integrate MEP systems, manage trade coordination, and partner with project management, clients, and trades to deliver high-performance projects.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of supervisory experience in commercial construction.
• Lead or Senior Superintendent on mission critical / data center projects from start through commissioning.
• Deep understanding of MEP systems, coordination, and sequencing in high-performance environments.
• Proven ability to lead large field teams and manage multiple trades.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, scheduling, and field operations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-demand jobsite environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all field operations to align with design, budget, and schedule.
• Coordinate all subcontractors with emphasis on MEP integration in mission critical environments.
• Plan and direct daily jobsite activities including manpower, materials, logistics, and equipment.
• Drive site safety culture; enforce policies and implement corrective actions with Safety leadership.
• Partner with Project Management to develop schedules, phasing plans, and lookahead planning.
• Lead coordination of complex building systems (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, controls).
• Interface with owners, engineers, inspectors, and trade partners on-site.
• Interpret drawings and specs; provide technical leadership on means and sequencing.
• Monitor productivity, quality, and subcontractor performance to meet goals.
• Review field-related transactions and approve requisitions and change orders.
• Lead or oversee field engineering, layout, and coordination efforts.
• Support commissioning, startup, and turnover processes for mission critical delivery.
• Maintain strong relationships with project teams, subs, and clients.
