Job summary

STO Building Group seeks a Superintendent to oversee daily operations on a data center construction site, coordinating scheduling, production, and procurement of materials, labor, and equipment. The role directs on-site crews and oversees any contracted work to ensure timely, quality project completion.

Key responsibilities include scheduling with the Project Manager, pre-construction coordination, procurement timing, progress reporting, and ensuring safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction related field with at least 5 years of Data Center construction experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction processes.
• Has a valid driver's license and is able to travel to and from the project site.
• Reads blueprints accurately and understands design requirements.
• Understands subcontractors' scopes of work and tolerances.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Basic Spanish preferred.
• Administrative skills: monitors progress and coordinates work activities.
• Strong management skills: leads and supervises teams; follows up on delegated tasks.
• Maintains integrity and professional conduct.
• Excellent problem-solving ability; uses data to formulate solutions.
• Team player with strong interpersonal relationships.
• Organized; plans actions and allocates resources efficiently.
• Professional appearance and conduct; demonstrates initiative.
• Operates office equipment and can use spreadsheets and word processing software.
• Knowledge of CMiC preferred.
• Project experience with hospitals/medical facilities ($10 million plus).

Responsibilities

• Studies specifications to plan procedures and staffing for each construction phase.
• Interacts with the Project Manager to determine project schedule and look-ahead plans.
• Coordinates the pre-construction meeting with the Project Manager before mobilization.
• Directs procurement of tools and materials to match work schedules.
• Ensures all parties are informed of construction issues and progress through regular meetings.
• Works with supervisors and labor representatives to resolve complaints and issues.
• Inspects work in progress to ensure conformance with specs and schedules.
• Manages project progress, materials used, and costs; adjusts schedules accordingly.
• Moves personnel between projects to optimize labor cost and staffing.
• Contributes to Project Management Plan and ensures policy compliance.
• Maintains safety, quality, and housekeeping standards across the project.
