Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Scheduler to maintain and improve CPM schedules across project teams, interfacing with estimating, design, and construction to ensure accurate life-cycle management of quantity, cost, and schedule from origin to completion.

You will develop CPM scenarios, analyze delays, manage risks, and mentor project managers on scheduling tools while contributing to a collaborative, performance-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, architecture, or related field.
• 3–8 years relevant experience or equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Understanding of Earned Value Management System.
• Self-sufficient in document control and office software.
• Self-sufficient in scheduling software including Primavera P6 or MSP.

Responsibilities

• Prepares CPM scenarios for management consideration and integrates into the CPM schedule.
• Accumulates historical and forecast data for realistic future planning and forecasting.
• Develops understanding of project scopes and contracts.
• Communicates with Owner to ensure customer satisfaction and implement corrective actions.
• Provides scheduling analysis for delays and impacts to identify and mitigate risk.
• Ensures teams respond to schedule-related risks and delays.
• Provides oversight and notifications on contract notice, delay, and documentation of schedules.
• Participates in pursuits and prepares fee proposals, RFP responses, and presentations.
• Documents schedule basis in narrative form with critical assumptions.
• Conducts monthly schedule project audits.
• Develops or assists in training Project Managers and Superintendents on scheduling software.
• Supports a positive and inclusive work environment.
