Job summary

FALCATA is seeking a Mission Assurance Lead in the Washington, DC area to establish and manage a comprehensive quality framework ensuring reliability of advanced missile or spacecraft systems. You will lead root-cause analyses, risk assessments, and flight-readiness reviews, while auditing suppliers and guiding non-conformance resolutions.

The role requires a degree in Aerospace/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering and 10+ years in quality or systems engineering, with the ability to obtain a U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in quality engineering, mission assurance, or systems engineering within the aerospace or defense industry.
• Expert knowledge of aerospace quality standards and mission assurance frameworks.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain mission assurance and quality frameworks aligned with program system engineering requirements.
• Lead and document root‑cause analyses, corrective actions, and failure investigations.
• Perform risk assessments using methodologies such as FMEA, FTA, and FRACAS.
• Support and participate in test-readiness, design-readiness, and flight-readiness reviews.
• Oversee supplier quality audits and monitor supplier performance for critical components.
• Manage the non-conformance reporting process and ensure timely resolution of issues.
• Provide regular mission assurance status reports and risk summaries to program leadership.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and program management to ensure design intent and reliability objectives are met.
