Job summary

Vast in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Senior Mission Assurance Engineer to lead safety and reliability for next-generation space stations. You will coordinate launch readiness, drive risk closure, and communicate with executives and external stakeholders as part of the Mission Assurance team.

The role requires a BS in a technical field, extensive experience in system safety, risk management, and systems engineering, and willingness to travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, materials engineering, mathematics, physics, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate launch readiness, verifies system is ready for flight
• Drive technical understanding and closure of identified risks
• Assess and communicate risks to executive leadership and external stakeholders
• Support technical reviews of software, hardware, and operations products
• Verify testing, deliverables, and review activities are complete
• Participate in critical space station operations, anomaly investigations, and major root cause investigations
• Drive corrective actions, author reports, and share lessons learned
• Coordinate mission data review
• Build a culture of safety and mission assurance
