RTX, a leading aerospace and defense company, seeks a Mission Analyst Intern in McKinney, TX. You will join a team of systems engineers to deliver Raytheon products for warfighters through modeling, simulation, and analysis.

Onsite work in McKinney, you will develop and analyze solutions across mission technologies including sensors, C2, and networks. You must be a student pursuing a STEM degree with at least 30 credits, and have scripting experience (Python, Bash, MATLAB).

Qualifications

  • Pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in STEM and enrolled through internship/co-op session.
  • Must have at least 30 credit hours by start of internship/co-op.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, MATLAB) or similar.
  • Experience can come from coursework, projects, or on‑the‑job work.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement model-based solutions to support mission trade studies with simulations.
  • Develop and integrate variable-fidelity computer models to capture system effects in threat environments.
  • Model system and mission kill chains using Government, Commercial, and Raytheon tools.
  • Execute mission system simulations and analyze results.
  • Create metrics and results products to communicate actions.

As a Mission Analyst Intern, you will be part of a team of systems engineers dedicated to delivering best-in-class Raytheon products for the warfighter through modeling, simulation, and analysis. Your work will help demonstrate mission effectiveness of systems and system-of-systems operating in complex threat environments. On this team, you will be responsible for developing and analyzing solutions across mission technologies, including sensors, effectors, communications, command and control, and more. This is an onsite position in McKinney, TX.

Responsibilities
  • Participating in the development and implementation of model-based solutions to support mission trade studies using mission and engagement level simulations.
  • Participating in the development and integration of variable-fidelity computer models and simulations that effectively capture system and system of systems effects in complex threat environments.
  • Modeling of system and mission kill chains using Government, Commercial, and/or Raytheon simulation tools.
  • Executing mission system simulations and analyzing their results.
  • Development of metrics and results products that communicate the chain of events that led to an action.
  • You will contribute and collaborate in a team environment, receiving input from the program or team experts, and work on projects, as you determine, develop, and implement analytic approaches that will generate the supporting data to inform programmatic decisions.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • Must have a minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
  • Experience working with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, MATLAB, or other common languages.
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Prior internship, co-op, or work experience.
  • Experience working in Linux environments.
  • Experience with standard government modeling tools including AFSIM, Suppressor, Brawler, or similar tools.
  • Experience in Sensors (RADARS, EOIR, etc.), Network Communications, Weapons/Effects (Missiles, Projectiles), Command & Control, and/or Resource Management.
  • Ability to understand tactics as described by military experts and to represent their employment (verbally, graphically, and in simulations).
  • Experience with Military Operations Analysis, Modeling & Simulation experience in the defense industry, and/or data analysis & visualization.
  • Familiar with performing data analysis and statistics with large volumes of data.
  • Familiar with Numerical Optimization Techniques, Analysis of Alternatives, or Design of Experiments.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
