Job summary

City of San Antonio is seeking a Records Clerk to process juvenile offenders, take missing person reports, and update NCIC/TCIC databases. This role operates mainly in Public Safety Headquarters, with potential postings to police sub stations as needed.

The position involves photographing and fingerprinting juveniles, notifying guardians and schools, creating missing person flyers, and compiling monthly activity reports. Shift is C-Shift, with weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Two years' experience interacting with adolescents in educational or criminal justice settings.
• Valid Class C Texas Driver's License.
• CJIS/NCIC certification required within one year of employment.
• CJIS background check with strict disqualifiers for felonies and certain offenses.

Responsibilities

• Photographs and fingerprints juveniles and enters data into NCIC/TCIC databases.
• Notifies guardians and schools about juvenile status and detention as required.
• Takes missing person reports and enters data into NCIC/TCIC with follow-ups.
• Creates missing person flyers for distribution to internal and external entities.
• Collaborates with Homicide, SVU, Fusion Center and others as required.
• Generates monthly reports documenting unit activities.
• Maintains expunction of juvenile records per State law.
• Assists external law enforcement in locating missing persons.
• Answers multi-line phone system with information and forms for the public.
• Sorts mail, reports, faxes, and subpoenas; testifies in court as needed.
