Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited law school.
• Minimum 6 months of legal practice experience.
• Licensed to practice law in Texas.
• Experience prosecuting misdemeanor offenses including jury selection.

Responsibilities

• Manage court docket and schedules; meet deadlines.
• Train and assist in training less experienced prosecutors.
• Evaluate cases through legal research and witness interviews.
• Draft and file motions, briefs, and other documents.
• Explain legal processes to witnesses and keep clients informed.
• Gather and present evidence for trial or hearing.
• Represent the State in trial, hearings, jury selection, and closing.
• Participate in settlement or plea negotiations.
• Prepare settlements/plea agreements and file documents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
