Job summary

Johnson & Johnson's Wound Closure & Healing R&D organization seeks an R&D Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) Spring 2027 Co-op in Raritan, NJ to assist in developing the STRATAFIX barbed suture products.

The role involves hands-on lab work, fixture development, SolidWorks modeling, prototype fabrication, and VOC-driven evaluation, with collaboration across engineering teams and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related technical field.
• Only students who have completed their freshman year or above will be considered.
• Availability to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the Co-op session.
• A minimum GPA of 3.0; 3.2+ preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership in campus programs or community service desired.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on laboratory work in engineering labs.
• Performing engineering studies and developing fixtures.
• Generating models and drawings in SolidWorks.
• Fabricating prototypes and evaluating them via VOC events.
• Good documentation practices including writing test protocols and reporting.
