Job summary
SRK Consulting, a global mining industry engineering firm, seeks a Water Resources Engineer in Reno, Nevada. This hybrid role focuses on hydrologic and hydraulic design for mining projects, including surface water control facilities, water balance modeling, and tailings impoundments.
You will lead a team of engineers, develop reports, and support proposals with clients across North America and internationally.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
- Professional Engineer license in Nevada preferred or willingness to reciprocity.
- 5+ years of professional experience in water resources or mining-related projects.
- Strong proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and design.
Responsibilities
- Provide hydrologic and hydraulic engineering support for mining projects.
- Manage surface water control facility designs and perform peak flow/hydraulic analyses.
- Lead staff engineers and guide project execution and deliverables.
- Prepare proposals, manage projects, and develop detailed reports and plans.
- Perform Civil 3D grading and design for heap leach pads, tailings impoundments, and related roads.
- Conduct water balance modeling and mine water management studies.
- Travel as needed for North America and international projects.
