Job summary

AECOM in Denver, Colorado is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join our growing team. You will support and lead a variety of water resources projects across mining, industrial, municipal, and infrastructure sectors, delivering hydrologic and hydraulic studies and water management solutions.

The successful candidate will have a Civil/Water Resources background, 4+ years of experience, and be ready to mentor junior staff while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams on North American mining

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Civil/Water Resources/Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of professional water resources engineering experience; mining exposure preferred.
• PE license preferred; strong modeling and design skills valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for mining, infrastructure, and water resources projects.
• Develop site water balance models and stormwater management plans.
• Support mine water management projects including dewatering and tailings water control.
• Conduct flood assessments, drainage studies, and watershed evaluations.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, specifications, and design documents.
• Collaborate with geotechnical, civil, environmental, and mining engineers on integrated solutions.
• Support environmental permitting efforts related to water resources and mining developments.
• Participate in client meetings, project planning, and business development.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
• Support construction-phase services including design reviews and field investigations.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering / Water Resources / Environmental Engineering or related discipline
