Job summary
NCE is actively recruiting a Project Engineer to support its Water Resources Practice in Northern Nevada, based in Reno or Lake Tahoe. The role blends office analysis with fieldwork, applying core hydrology and hydraulics to roadway drainage, drainage improvement, and infrastructure projects.
You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver reports, drawings, and estimates. The ideal candidate has a civil/environmental engineering degree, Nevada PE eligibility within 6 months, and
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil/environmental engineering
- Nevada PE license within 6 months or ability
- Experience in roadway drainage, flood control, erosion
- Familiarity with Nevada/AASHTO/FHWA drainage criteria
- Experience with HEC software and ArcGIS
Responsibilities
- Evaluate roadway hydrology and hydraulics
- Model hydrology/hydraulics using HEC tools
- Prepare technical reports
- Participate in river and flood control projects
- Develop drawings, plans, estimates
- Support stormwater and urban drainage projects
- Contribute to climate adaptation and watershed planning
- Develop GIS maps and spatial analyses
- Conduct field investigations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
