Job summary

Stantec seeks a Mining Technical Services Intern to join our Mining, Minerals & Metals team in Reno, NV. You will work with geologists, mining engineers, metallurgists, economists, and project managers on mining projects across North America and internationally.

You will gain exposure to mineral resource estimation, mine studies, and NI 43-101 / S-K 1300 technical reporting with multidisciplinary teams. Hybrid work supported, compensation disclosed above.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Geology or related fields.
• Completed at least two years of undergraduate coursework.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with Excel and basic data analysis tools.
• Interest in mineral resource estimation and mine studies.
• Experience with GIS and mining software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with geological data compilation, validation, and management.
• Supporting mineral resource estimation and geostatistical analyses.
• Assisting with drill hole database reviews and QA/QC evaluations.
• Developing figures, maps, sections, and resource presentation materials.
• Supporting mining and economic studies through data analysis and benchmarking.
• Assisting with life-of-mine production, cost, and commodity price analyses.
• Contributing to preliminary economic assessments and financial modeling tasks.
• Performing literature reviews and technical research.
• Supporting preparation of technical reports and study documentation.
• Assisting senior staff with technical presentations and client deliverables.
• Participating in project meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions.
