The role requires strong data analysis, process control, and hands-on engineering in a mining environment with emphasis on hydrometallurgy and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering required.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in chemical engineering with minerals processing or hydrometallurgy.
• Strong understanding of chemical principles relevant to mining and ore processing.
• Experience with process simulation and modelling tools advantageous.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and environmental best practices in mining.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and optimise chemical processes for mineral extraction, concentration, and refining.
• Troubleshoot operational issues in processing plants and implement effective solutions.
• Conduct laboratory and pilot-scale testing to evaluate process improvements and new technologies.
• Monitor process performance using key indicators and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with metallurgists, geologists, and plant operators to achieve production targets.
• Develop and update operating procedures and technical documentation.
• Participate in process design and modification projects.
• Evaluate and recommend chemical reagents and their optimal usage.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of process control strategies.
