Placements24 is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer specializing in optimization to join their team in Upington, Northern Cape. The role focuses on improving efficiency, yield, and safety of existing chemical processes through data analysis and practical implementations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical engineering, hands-on optimization experience, and the ability to solve problems in an industrial setting.

Formación

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in chemical process engineering with emphasis on optimization.
• Proven data analysis and process troubleshooting in an industrial setting.
• Familiarity with process simulation software is beneficial.
• Strong understanding of chemical unit operations and reaction engineering.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze process data to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
• Develop and implement process optimization strategies to enhance yield, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
• Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations and equipment failures.
• Design and execute small-scale experiments or pilot tests to validate optimization initiatives.
• Collaborate with plant operations, maintenance, and quality control teams to implement changes.
• Prepare technical reports detailing findings, recommendations, and project outcomes.
• Ensure all process modifications comply with safety and environmental regulations.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and new technologies for process optimization.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of process control strategies.
