Job summary

Teck's Red Dog Operations in Alaska is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to provide engineering support, project management and design services at our on-site mine. The role emphasizes reliability-centered maintenance, root cause analysis and collaboration with maintenance and operations teams to improve mechanical systems and ensure safe, efficient operations.

A Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and at least five years of maintenance engineering experience are preferred; proficiency with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in maintenance engineering, mining or mill environment.
• Proficient in MS Office and Windows; advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with project work is an asset.
• Maintenance experience in mill/mine environment an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical engineering support and design services.
• Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams for resource use.
• Evaluate new tech and implement cost-effective improvements.
• Apply reliability-centered maintenance and root cause analysis.
• Manage projects including scope, cost, and commissioning.
• Mentor Engineers in Training and guide staff.
• Ensure safety policies and daily workplace inspections.
