Job summary

Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, is recruiting for a Deputy General Manager at the Anchorage Office. Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead operational readiness, PMO activities, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize the RD MLE project assets and supply chain.

You will oversee budgets, safety, regulatory interfaces, and workforce development while driving continuous improvement and risk management in a large zinc mining operation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mine, Metallurgical, Mechanical Engineering, Geology or related field
• Extensive senior operations experience in mining
• Proven leadership and team-building abilities
• Experience with operational readiness and project integration
• Commercial/financial understanding of base metals mining
• Experience in change management and continuous improvement
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Responsibilities

• Define and develop business and operational requirements to optimize design and ramp up RD MLE project assets
• Collaborate with site leadership to deliver the RD MLE project via operational readiness plans
• Establish a PMO for Operational Readiness and lead an multidisciplinary team
• Oversee compliance with HSEC plans, budgets, schedules, and contracts
• Support regulatory and environmental decisions affecting mining operations
• Lead workforce recruitment, training and systems implementations
• Manage supply chain, contracts and supplier relationships for Red Dog Mine
