Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mining, Geological or Civil Engineering.
• Solid technical skills in mining applications and familiarity with mine modeling programs.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and presentations.
• Ability to meet commitments and adapt to challenging deadlines.
• Must possess a valid State driver's license and insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine workplace inspections and hazard assessments across mine, shop, plant, and office areas.
• Support compliance with company safety policies and MSHA regulations.
• Participate in job safety analyses, risk assessments, and pre-task planning.
• Help document, track, and follow up on hazards, corrective actions, and safety observations.
• Assist with incident and near-miss investigations, collecting information and identifying factors.
• Maintain safety records, inspection reports, and training documentation.
• Support safety training, orientations, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
• Analyze safety data and help prepare reports and trend summaries.
• Participate in emergency response drills and review procedures.
• Evaluate PPE requirements and safe work practices.
• Attend safety meetings with operations, maintenance, engineering, and environmental teams.
• Complete a safety improvement project and present findings.
