Job summary

HarbisonWalker International is seeking a Geologist to join our Mining Team. The role combines field investigations, geological analysis, resource evaluation, and property inspections to support mine planning and sequencing.

You will work with the Mining Engineer to provide reliable data for reserves, grading, and product specifications. Responsibilities include exploration, data collection, model updates, historical reconciliation, surveying support, SWPPP inspections, and records management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Mining Engineering, or equivalent.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Oracle ERP.
• Ability to use maps, compasses and GPS in field locations and read topographic maps.
• AutoCAD experience with Civil 3D platform.
• Strong written and verbal communication and teamwork.
• 1–4 years of experience in environmental consulting, mining or geology.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field exploration, drilling, and sampling to evaluate clay deposits and reserves.
• Collect, validate, interpret, and maintain geological and survey data.
• Develop and update geological models and resource estimates.
• Review historical resource estimates and reconcile with drilling data.
• Support surveying activities and verify property/mineral boundaries.
• Establish property inspection programs to identify encroachments and monument issues.
• Provide geological data to mining engineers for planning and sequencing.
• Conduct SWPPP inspections and support environmental compliance.
• Maintain records of investigations, inspections and evaluations.
