Job summary

ZF in Vernon Hills, IL is seeking a Mining Gearbox Mechanic to diagnose and troubleshoot gearboxes, inspect and reassemble, and test products for proper functionality. You will communicate with customer service for product analysis and support, manage inventory, and assist with painting and staging work in a safety-conscious environment.

Applicants must have a high school diploma, 3+ years of experience with industrial transmissions, and the ability to read manuals and hydraulic schematics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Read and interpret manuals, blueprints and hydraulic schematics.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose/troubleshoot gearboxes and inspect and report failure analysis of product and parts.
• Inspect and reassemble gearboxes including implementing product updates.
• Test product to ensure functionality.
• Communicate with customer service for product analysis and customer support.
• Receive inventory, prep, paint and skid units.
• Stage and organize WIP for paint and input paint specs to safety team.
• Maintain respirator certifications.
