Job summary

CB Mining, a family-owned independent mining support company based in Washington, PA, is looking for a Level I Gearbox Technician to join its growing team. You will disassemble and reassemble geared products, set up, test, and configure equipment used in longwall mining operations.

You will maintain rebuild documentation to MSHA guidelines, keep areas clean, and assist with painting and shipping prep. You will also operate equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, and Bobcats as needed and

Qualifications

• Experience with dismantling and rebuilding geared equipment for industrial settings.
• Ability to read and interpret prints and schematics.
• Familiarity with hydraulics and electro-hydraulics.
• Capable of basic trouble shooting (hydraulic, sensors, mechanical).

Responsibilities

Established from part of the Caterpillar mining group, CB Mining has grown from 2 locations in Washington, PA to now 4 locations, with additions in Marion, IL and Tuscaloosa, AL, We provide customers with rebuild services, CST gearbox rebuilds, welding and fabrications services, service exchange units, custom made cabling solutions, life cycle services including oil sampling and vibration analysis, robust inventory support, compatibility services and underground technical support. Primary Responsibilities

• The level I gearbox technician will perform disassembly and assembly of geared products along with the setup, testing, and configuration of this equipment.
• Maintains documentation on rebuild processes to comply with organization and regulatory standards.
• Maintains clean manufacturing areas, equipment, and materials.
• Assemble mechanical components of gear-driven equipment produced for the mining industry in accordance with Company and MSHA guidelines.

Basic disassembly and cleaning:

• Ability to work off of verbal and written instructions
• Safely remove motors, tunnel housings, fluid couplings, and prep equipment for cleaning and rebuild
• Ability to operate or learn to operate overhead crane, forklift, and Bobcat
• Use hand and pneumatic tools and hand torch
• Disassemble equipment working with tech I or II, or with supervisor
• Thoroughly clean and prep parts for assembly
• Paint equipment and prep for shipping

Basic assembly:

• Read Prints for disassembly, inspection and assembly
• Basic understanding of hydraulics and electro hydraulics along with the ability to read schematics/diagrams
• Capable of understanding and performing all that is required to remanufacture components and perform final testing
• Ability to perform basic trouble shooting (hydraulic, electronic sensors, mechanical)
