Job summary

Western States Equipment seeks a Mining Field Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Caterpillar mining equipment in the field, shop, or at customer sites. You will perform removals, repairs, assemblies, and installations per manufacturer specifications while upholding safety standards.

Responsibilities include completing repairs on assigned customer sites, adhering to DOT/ CDL requirements, and obtaining MSHA certifications as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree in diesel technology preferred.
• 3+ years in Caterpillar mining or similar environment.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• DOT Med Card or Class A CDL may be required depending on field truck GVW.
• MSHA certifications as required by site.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mining equipment in field, shop, or customer site.
• Remove, repair, assemble, and install components per manufacturer specifications.
• Complete required repairs at customer mining sites while following site safety procedures.
• Adhere to DOT and site procedures and safety requirements.
