Job summary

Western States Equipment Co. is seeking a Mining Field Technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Caterpillar mining equipment at customer sites or in the shop.

The role requires independent work, adherence to safety policies, and ability to obtain MSHA certifications as needed. Responsibilities include diagnosing, repairing engines, powertrains, hydraulics, electrical systems, and undercarriage components in field or shop settings; a valid CDL/DOT card may be required depending on truck

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 3 years experience with Caterpillar mining equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• DOT Med Card or Class A CDL depending on field truck GVW.
• MSHA certifications required as per customer site.
• English communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of Caterpillar mining equipment.
• Engines and powertrain work.
• Electrical, hydraulics, HVAC, and cab systems.
• Undercarriage maintenance and repair.
