Job summary

The Mining Field Technician at Western States Equipment is responsible for independent diagnosis, failure analysis, and repair of Caterpillar mining equipment at the customer's site, shop, or field location. You will remove, repair, assemble, and install according to manufacturer specifications and applicable skillset.

This role requires the ability to work at customer sites, in a shop, or in transit, and may require a DOT Med Card or Class A CDL.

Qualifications

• Must be able to schedule work independently and handle multiple tasks.
• Ability to obtain job-related certifications for heavy equipment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and field software.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work with customers, vendors and teammates.
• Experience with SIS, ET, STW software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosis, Troubleshooting, and Repair of mining equipment.
• Engines and Powertrain work and associated systems.
• Electrical, Hydraulics, HVAC, and Cab tasks.
• Undercarriage inspection and service.
