Job summary

Western States Equipment Co. is seeking a Mining Field Technician to diagnose, repair, and service Caterpillar mining equipment at customer sites, in the shop, or in the field. You will perform required repairs following manufacturer specifications and maintain safety standards.

Role may require driving duties and appropriate certifications; reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work with customers, vendors, and crews.

Qualifications

• Proof of high school diploma or GED.
• Associates degree in diesel technology preferred.
• Minimum three years in Caterpillar mining or similar with hydraulic, engine and powertrain experience.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• DOT Med Card or Class A CDL may be required depending on field truck GVW.
• Proper technician tooling as needed.
• Ability to obtain MSHA certifications as required by site.
• Ability to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosis, troubleshooting and repair in field, shop, or customer site.
• Engines and powertrain work.
• Electrical, hydraulics, HVAC, and cab work.
• Undercarriage servicing.
