Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking a detail-oriented field surveyor to support open-pit and mining operations. You will perform detailed field surveys and assist with buried utilities surveys for new and existing features.

You will maintain documentation, present findings to Engineering, Geology, and Operations, and ensure safety standards are met. Prior surveying experience and a valid driver’s license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in mining, construction or a related field.
• A valid driver’s license is required for this job.
• Preferred: High School diploma or GED, previous surveying experience.
• Preferred: ability to learn and operate MS Office programs.
• Preferred: ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field surveys in a mining environment.
• Assist with buried utility location surveys.
• Assist and complete a survey “as-builts” on new and existing features.
• Maintain and update documentation and electronic files.
• Prepare and present findings to Engineering, Geology, and Operations personnel.
• Perform other duties as required.
