Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan is seeking a Surveyor Technician in Bayard, NM to perform detailed field surveys at the site under general supervision. You will assist with field surveys in a mining environment and contribute to buried utility surveys and as-builts.

Preferred candidates may have a High School diploma or GED and prior surveying experience. The role requires a valid driver’s license and offers comprehensive benefits within a major mining operation.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience in mining, construction or a related field.
• A valid driver's license is required for this job.
• High School diploma or GED preferred; previous surveying experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field surveys in a mining environment
• Assists with buried utility location surveys
• Assists and completes a survey "as-builts" on new and existing features
• Maintains and updates appropriate documentation and electronic files
• Prepares and presents findings to Engineering, Geology, and Operations personnel
• Compiles data for blast hole patterns, road designs, etc., including basic cartography
• Perform other duties as required
