Job summary

Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions is seeking a Workshop Technician to support operations in Elko, NV. The role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining underground mining equipment and components at high-profile sites.

You will inspect performance, diagnose faults, rebuild components, and test repaired equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation while adhering to Sandvik safety policies and industry standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Technical certification or diploma in mechanical or electrical fields.
• 3–5 years of industry related experience.
• Underground or surface mining equipment experience with schematic experience.
• Strong mechanical proficiency and work ethic.
• Excellent communication and active listening skills.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience.
• Flexible and self-motivated, with a strive to achieve high-level customer happiness.
• Excellent troubleshooting ability with diagnostic and problem solving skills.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret equipment schematics.
• Digital literacy.
• Must conform to ISO Standards.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and/or electrical aspects of underground mining equipment and components at high profile mining sites.
• Inspect equipment for accurate performance and determine faults and malfunctions; rebuild components per factory specs.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure accurate operational performance.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives and safety policies.
• Develop sound relationships with workshop team and internal/external customers for smooth operations.
