Job summary

Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions is seeking a Workshop Technician for Elko, NV. The successful candidate will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain underground mining equipment and components, following factory specs and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical certification or diploma in mechanical or electrical fields.
• 3-5 years of industry related experience in mining equipment.
• Underground or surface mining equipment experience with schematic experience.
• Valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Strong mechanical proficiency and work ethic with teamwork.
• Excellent troubleshooting ability and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret equipment schematics.
• Digital literacy and ISO standards compliance.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical/electrical aspects of equipment at mine sites.
• Inspect equipment, identify faults, rebuild components, and test performance.
• Participate in continuous improvement and adhere to safety policies.
• Develop relationships with workshop team and customers for smooth operations.
• Follow scopes of work within time constraints and report labor/parts estimates.
• Maintain tools, housekeeping, and accurate time records and reports.
