Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan in Tyrone, NM, is seeking a heavy equipment operator to support mining production with de-watering, material delivery, and surface maintenance. You will operate haul trucks, dozers, excavators, graders, and loaders; participate in training others; follow safety procedures; perform pre-shift inspections; and work with the dispatch system.

The role offers competitive wages in the $24.00–$32.00 per hour range and a benefits package including health, life, 401(k), PTO, tuition

Qualifications

• Six months of mobile equipment operating experience.
• Complete required competencies and pass written assessment where required.
• High School diploma or GED is preferred/required as stated.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment to support production including de-watering, material delivery, berms, and surface maintenance.
• Operate haul trucks, water trucks, dozers, excavators, graders and loaders.
• Assist with training and mentoring of other equipment operators.
• Perform pre-shift inspections and follow start-up/shut-down procedures and LOTOTO.
• Communicate via computer dispatch system or two-way radio and perform other duties as required.
