Job summary

The Mosaic Company in the United States is offering a Mining Engineer Co-Op/Intern for Summer 2027 at Four Corners Facility in Bradley, FL and Fort Meade Facility in Fort Meade, FL. You will learn mining planning, operations optimization, quality control, mapping, and more through hands-on projects.

You'll work in person, typically 36-40 hours per week, May 10 to August 20, 2027, with potential housing and relocation for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Junior level or above by May 2027 pursuing a bachelor's in Mining Engineering.
• 2.75 GPA or higher.
• Ability to work in an industrial chemical/mining environment.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to sites.
• Selected candidates must complete post-offer pre-placement checks.

Responsibilities

• Learn all aspects of working at a site including Mine Planning, Operations Optimization, Quality Control, and Mapping.
• Communicate with management, plant operators, engineers, tradespersons and contractors.
• Participate in department and project meetings.

Where will you work:

Four Corners Facility at 11200 R 37 South. Bradley, FL and/or South Fort Meade Facility at 5880 Manley Road. Fort Meade, FL 33841. Housing and relocation can be provided for qualified candidates.

What you'll do:

• Assignments will involve learning all aspects of working at a site including Mine Planning, Operations Optimization, Quality Control, Mapping and more.
• Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), tradespersons, and contractors.
• Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment.
• Adhering to Mosaic's mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies.

What you'll need:

• Junior level or above by May 2027 pursuing a bachelor's in Mining Engineering.
• 2.75 GPA or higher
• Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment.
• 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work is preferred.
• Previous internship or co-op experience is preferred.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.
• Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship
• Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.
• Basic computer skills are required
• Experience working in a team environment is a must
• Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable
• Effective verbal communication skills is a plus
• Physical work environment is occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments
