Job summary

Hecla Mining Company’s Greens Creek Mine in Juneau, Alaska seeks a Civil Engineering Intern to join the integrated engineering team. You’ll begin with safety, assist in geotechnical sampling, surveying, and data collection while supporting tailings placement planning and daily reporting.

The internship runs between May and September 1, 2027. You must be enrolled in a Civil/Geotechnical engineering program for Fall 2026 and be able to pass pre-employment drug testing; housing is provided and

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in Fall 2026 civil/geotechnical or related engineering program.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Assist geotechnical sampling, data collection, and surveying.
• Help develop tailings placement plans and complete daily reporting.
• Perform QC testing and maintain safety inspections of equipment and work areas.
