Job summary

Hecla Mining Company invites mechanical engineering students for a 2027 internship in Juneau, AK. You will assist the Maintenance team with reliability engineering, data analysis, and improvement projects for underground and surface equipment, while coordinating with Mine Operations for technical support.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in school for the Fall 2026 semester in mechanical, civil or related engineering field.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug testing.
• Internship runs May–September 1, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance team with reliability engineering techniques and data analysis.
• Support underground and surface mobile equipment maintenance in a hard rock mine.
• Coordinate with Mine Operations for technical support and planning.
• Contribute to equipment management strategy development and improvements.
