Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Mineral Processing Practice Leader to drive growth, technical excellence, and market leadership in the mineral processing business. This senior role combines deep technical expertise with commercial acumen and a passion for developing people and practices, offering global reach and significant autonomy.

The role requires 10+ years in mineral processing and a track record in consulting or EPCM settings, with travel flexibility and strong stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline and 10+ years of experience in Metallurgical, Chemical, or Mineral Processing Engineering (or related field).
• Master’s or PhD in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering preferred or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in mineral processing design and engineering.
• Experience working in consulting or EPCM environments on multidisciplinary mining projects.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Professional Engineer (PE) registration.
• Familiarity with international standards and codes.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience leading teams, managing technical workstreams, and delivering client-focused solutions.
• Willingness to travel globally.

Responsibilities

• Lead the growth, technical excellence, and strategic direction of the Mineral Processing practice.
• Define technical vision and lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and metallurgists.
• Drive business development across base metals, precious metals, critical minerals, and industrial minerals markets globally.
• Act as a recognized subject matter expert and mentor the next generation of processing engineers.
