Placements24 seeks an experienced Mine Surveyor to join our client’s operations in East London. The role focuses on accurate measurement and mapping of mine workings, supporting planning, production, and safety initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years in mine surveying, with proficiency in surveying instruments and software including AutoCAD, Surpac and MinePlan. Open-pit or underground mining experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mine surveying in open-pit or underground operations.
• Degree or diploma in Mine Surveying or Geomatics is required.
• Proficiency with modern surveying instruments and software is expected.
• Knowledge of mine planning and reporting requirements is essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct surface and underground surveys to establish control points and map mine workings.
• Process and interpret survey data using AutoCAD, Surpac and MinePlan.
• Prepare survey plans, cross-sections, and volumetric calculations for reporting.
• Monitor ground stability and report hazards or significant changes.

You will utilize advanced surveying equipment and software to provide precise data critical for mine planning, production, and safety. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct surface and underground surveys to establish control points and map mine workings.
• Use total stations, GPS, drones, and laser scanners for data acquisition.
• Process and interpret survey data using specialized software (e.g., AutoCAD, Surpac, MinePlan).
• Prepare survey plans, cross-sections, and volumetric calculations for resource and production reporting.
• Monitor ground stability and report on any significant changes or potential hazards.

Requirements
