Job summary

Sibanye-Stillwater is seeking a Mine Site Safety Manager for the Columbus area in MT, overseeing safety and health at the Stillwater and East Boulder Mines. The role requires travel to East Boulder and the Stillwater Mine and interfaces with regulators to maintain compliance.

The successful candidate will lead the safety team, implement the OH&S management system, and drive a culture of zero harm while partnering with site managers and senior leadership to improve safety performance.

Qualifications

Thorough understanding of underground mining methods and health, safety, and environmental regulation.
MSHA certified instructor (underground) and knowledge of MSHA standards.
Degree in Safety, occupational health or equivalent from an accredited institution.
Minimum ten years relevant experience, preferably in mining.

Responsibilities

Lead safety and health functions at the Stillwater and East Boulder Mines and interface with regulators.
Develop and implement the Sibanye-Stillwater Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
Provide leadership to safety staff and consult with site managers on health and safety issues.
Maintain audits, certifications and regulatory licenses including ISO 45001 and 30 CFR compliance.
Drive a zero-harm culture with short- and long-term planning and budgeting for safety.
