Komatsu Mining Corp. is seeking a Safety Lead to advance environmental, health, and safety programs across mining and industrial operations in Arizona. The role partners with operations to drive regulatory compliance, training, risk reduction, and a strong safety culture.

Travel up to 90% across Arizona, including overnights, is required. The ideal candidate will have MSHA training, 4+ years in EHS at a mine, and proven incident investigation and training delivery experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of EHS experience in mining, aggregate, quarry, construction, industrial, or heavy manufacturing environments.
• Minimum of 4 years supporting MSHA-regulated operations.
• Experience conducting incident investigations, compliance audits, risk assessments, and corrective action management.
• Experience in developing, scheduling, and delivering employee safety training.

Responsabilités

• Lead implementation and continuous improvement of mine safety and environmental management systems.
• Conduct routine site inspections, compliance audits, workplace examinations, and risk assessments.
• Identify hazards and develop corrective actions to eliminate or reduce risk.
• Investigate incidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage events, and environmental incidents using root cause analysis techniques.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs, including MSHA Part 48 training requirements.
• Support mine management with regulatory inspections and interactions with MSHA and environmental agencies.
• Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
• Assist with environmental programs including air quality, stormwater, waste management, spill prevention, and permitting requirements.
• Review and analyze EHS performance metrics and prepare reports for site and corporate leadership.
• Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and leadership safety engagements.
• Coach supervisors and employees on hazard recognition, safe work practices, and critical risk controls.
• Participate in contractor safety management processes.
• Support emergency response planning, drills, and incident response activities.
• Travel to multiple mining locations as needed to support operations.
