Job summary

Morton Salt is seeking a Project Engineer at Weeks Island in Louisiana. The role focuses on applying engineering knowledge to project planning and execution, including capital and expense projects and supervision of contractors.

You will work with maintenance teams to commission new assets and support survey work, mine maps, and daily production records. Requires a Mine Project Engineer Degree and ability to work independently with limited instruction.

Qualifications

• Feasibility studies for proposed projects, data collection, cost and time estimation.
• Prepare and submit expense and capital projects; support division review processes.
• Design and supervise engineering projects.
• Maintain up-to-date project records and mine drawing technical records.
• Coordinate with buyers, vendors, and contractors on equipment/service purchases.
• Conduct mine inspections to ensure safe operations and support ventilation studies.
• Coordinate construction work among engineers, contractors, supervisors and hourly staff.
• Consult with management and maintenance for day-to-day engineering advisory.

Responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies and data collection for projects.

• Design, supervise and implement engineering projects.
• Keep project records and mine drawings current.
• Coordinate equipment purchases and inspections with vendors.
