Job summary

The Shelly Company is seeking a Mine Engineer to provide technical support for surveying, drilling and blasting, reserve evaluation, inventory management, and mine design for permitting and planning in Ohio. The role requires strong data-driven planning and collaboration with management.

You will perform surveys, prepare mine plans, and utilize Carlson and other planning tools while maintaining safety and compliance with company policies. Travel and non-standard hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mine Engineering, Geology, or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of relevant experience is preferred.
• Experience with land surveying instruments is a plus.
• Proficiency with mine planning software; Carlson Surface Mining Module preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Conducts inventory surveys using drone and traditional surveying methods.
• Surveys boundaries, limits, and topography for mine planning and property management.
• Prepare phased short, medium, and long term mine plans for operations management.
• Use mine planning software for projects such as overburden stripping plans, reserve estimation, and exploration.
