Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. is seeking a Utility Employee II to support shovel moves, dewatering activities, and other mine support tasks at the Bagdad operations in Arizona.

The role requires working with heavy equipment, ensuring safety, and following strict procedures under limited supervision. The successful candidate will lay and pick up power cables, operate specialized equipment, and assist in maintaining dewatering and pumping systems, while training others and adhering to company safety

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in Mine Operations or related Industrial Operations/Maintenance with heavy equipment and shovels.
• Effective written and verbal communication to satisfy safety and training policies.
• Ability to communicate with Supervisors and other Departments.
• Good organizational skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Basic knowledge of mining activities: cable handling, shovel moves, dewatering, pump setup, HDPE pipe fusing.
• Understanding of Power Distribution for Cable Moves.
• Ability to read maps and understand traffic patterns.
• Proven safe work history and ability to work safely in mining environments.

Responsibilities

• Lay and pick up power cables.
• Plan and execute shovel moves.
• Safely operate cable and boom trucks.
• Set up and maintain dewatering systems.
• Perform HDPE pipe fusing.
• Assist in mine support activities as needed.
• Train and mentor other employees.
• Perform other duties as required.
