Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Inc. is hiring a Support Equipment Operator II for Mine Operations at our Bagdad, AZ site. You will operate heavy equipment in production, perform pre-shift inspections and support maintenance tasks to keep operations safe and efficient.

Required: two years of mobile equipment operating experience, plus completion of required academic and practical competencies and passing a written assessment. Local site housing may be available and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Two years of mobile equipment operating experience.
• Successful completion of academic and practical competencies and passing a written assessment.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment in production support including de-watering, materials delivery, berm maintenance and surface maintenance.
• Operate haul trucks, water trucks, dozers, excavators, graders and loaders.
• Assist in training and mentoring other operators.
• Understand changes to work areas and potential hazards.
• Know start-up/shut-down, parking, mounting/dismounting, LOTOTO, emergency, fire, ground personnel and Blue Stake procedures.
• Road building, stockpile management, road maintenance, berms, loading trucks, trenching.
• Understand equipment components and practices to reduce wear/damage.
• Assist with project work such as ramps and reclamation slopes.
• Support operations with barricading shovels and power cable moves.
• Communicate via dispatch system or two-way radio.
• Perform pre-shift equipment inspections.
• Perform minor maintenance.
• Perform other duties as required.
