Job summary

Vulcan Materials Company is seeking a Pit Supervisor to oversee daily aggregate plant operations, optimize production, and ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

You will assist the Plant Manager in mine development through stripping and reclamation, driving cost-efficiency and safe work practices at the site. This role requires hands-on leadership and collaboration with multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Must have strong leadership and supervision capabilities for hourly workforce.
• 3-5 years in land striping & reclamation or similar field experience preferred.
• 1+ year supervisory experience preferred in construction/materials setting.
• BS/BA or equivalent combination of training/experience preferred; HS diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the aggregate plant to ensure safety, production, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead planning and scheduling to meet production targets and budgets.
• Participate in recruitment and coaching of hourly staff; disciplinary steps as needed.
• Coordinate with SHE/Plant management to maintain a safe work environment and policy adherence.
• Monitor and maintain plant equipment; implement cost-saving and continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Support long-range and short-term department planning and inspections.
