Job summary

Sunshine is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our site maintenance team. You will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on a range of mobile and fixed plant equipment, with emphasis on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, repairs, CMMS documentation, and collaboration with planners. A strong safety mindset and ability to pass physical and drug screening are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience maintaining mining or heavy industrial equipment.
• Strong diagnostic skills across hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical systems.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, manuals and data sheets.
• Basic computer skills and CMMS familiarity.
• Commitment to safe work practices; MSHA training required.
• Ability to pass physical and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on equipment.
• Diagnose faults and implement repairs to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate maintenance with external contractors as needed.
• Execute preventive/predictive tasks aligned with OEM requirements.
• Maintain records of work, parts, and equipment condition in CMMS.
• Collaborate with planners and supervisors on job planning and scheduling.
• Support reliability initiatives including RCA and DE processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, costs, and equipment performance.
• Ensure compliance with site policies, MSHA/OSHA standards.
• Contribute to a culture of safety and teamwork.
