Job summary

OceanaGold is seeking a equipment operator for a surface mining operation near Charlotte, NC, with 12-hour shifts. The role involves operating heavy equipment, recording drilling data, rebuilding DTH hammers, and changing consumables on the drill rig while QAQC blast patterns as needed.

Candidates should have drilling experience (Sandvik DI650i/DR410i or equivalent), be able to lift up to 50 lbs, and work well in a team. Competitive pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Experience with heavy equipment such as Dozer, excavator, Front end loader.
• Sandvik DI650i drill experience.
• Sandvik DR410i drill experience.
• Other drilling experience (oil & gas, exploration, RC).
• Blast hole loading experience.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Understanding of drill patterns and design.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Small support equipment experience (Skid steer, WA-270 wheel loader).

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.
• Must be able to work shift work with 12-hour shifts.
• Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.
• Work is in a surface mine setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
• Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required.
