Job summary

Healthyhorns - Counseling and Mental Health Center at the University of Texas at Austin seeks a Mindful Eating Counselor (LPC/LCSW/ Psychology) to provide short-term individual and group counseling on UT Austin's main campus. The role emphasizes eating disorders and body image concerns, with outreach and training duties for interns and practicum students.

Responsibilities include crisis intervention, documenting contacts, and coordinating referrals with campus services.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or Social Work (or Texas-eligibility).
• Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or related to Texas licensure.
• Licensed to practice independently in Texas (or able to obtain within 1 year).
• Experience in college/university counseling settings and with eating/body image concerns.

Responsibilities

• Provide short-term individual and group counseling to undergraduates and graduates.
• Crisis intervention and outreach services.
• Maintain accurate documentation per center policies.
• Develop programmatic interventions addressing psycho-social needs.
• Identify and develop groups; recruit and screen participants.
• Facilitate groups and supervise interns as needed.
• Coordinate referrals with CMHC and university/community providers.
