Job summary

University of Texas at Austin is seeking a CARE Coordinator (LPC, LCSW, PhD) to join the Counseling and Mental Health Center within Healthyhorns. The role supports undergraduates and graduates with short-term counseling, outreach, and crisis response on the UT Austin main campus.

The position emphasizes collaboration with faculty and campus partners, supervision of interns, and program development to advance student well-being and academic success.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice independently as LPC, LCSW, or Psychologist in Texas or able to obtain licensure within one year.
• Experience in high-demand outpatient or inpatient mental health settings.
• Brief individual therapy, crisis intervention, care coordination, and brief therapy experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide short-term individual and group counseling and outreach to undergrad/grad students.
• Conduct initial assessments and crisis intervention as needed.
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation per CMHC policies.
• Develop programs and trainings; supervise interns and practicum students.
• Coordinate referrals between CMHC and university/community services.
