Job summary

Aquent is seeking a meticulous Mind Sciences specialist to join a cutting‑edge lab focused on perception, cognition, neurophysiology, and human performance. You’ll support human‑subject studies, prepare sessions, and collaborate with senior researchers to translate findings into product advances.

Responsibilities include setting up EEG/fNIRS equipment, capturing high‑quality data, ensuring protocol adherence, monitoring participant comfort, and performing basic data processing under supervision.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience or a closely related scientific field.
  • 4+ years of relevant human‑subject research experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 2+ years with a Master’s degree.
  • Hands-on experience executing human research with direct interaction with human subjects.
  • Familiarity and practical experience with neuroimaging tools, including their application to human participants.
  • Ability to conduct basic research and data analysis.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Execute human‑subject research studies designed by senior researchers.
  • Prepare research spaces and organize study materials for participant sessions.
  • Adhere to established protocols to ensure data integrity and scientific rigor.
  • Collaborate with researchers and lab personnel from study inception to completion.
  • Welcome and onboard participants, explain procedures, and ensure participant comfort.
  • Verify informed consent is completed and signed before activity begins.
  • Monitor participant well‑being and escalate concerns as needed.
  • Set up, calibrate, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain EEG and fNIRS equipment.
  • Ensure equipment is functional and ready for data collection sessions.
  • Document technical issues for senior researchers.
  • Collect high‑quality physiological, behavioral, and subjective data.
  • Label, store, and transfer data per procedures, safeguarding privacy.
  • Maintain accurate study and participant records with privacy in mind.
  • Perform preliminary data cleaning and basic analysis under supervision.
