Job summary

Mount Sinai seeks an Associate Researcher in the Neurosciences Lab to perform routine experiments under supervision. You will assist in interpreting results and provide lab and clerical support, enabling progress on the assigned project.

Responsibilities include behavioral testing of non-human primates, collecting and analyzing fMRI and neurophysiology data, and coordinating with team members to publish findings while maintaining accurate records and compliance with safety policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in science or related field preferred, or combination of relevant research experience and education.
  • 0-2 years of research/laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct behavioral training and testing of non-human primates.
  • Collect functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and neurophysiology data from non-human primates in collaboration with laboratory team members.
  • Analyze behavioral, neurophysiology, and fMRI data using appropriate research methods and software.
  • Collaborate with students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty to interpret findings, prepare manuscripts, and publish scientific research.
  • Maintain accurate research records and ensure compliance with laboratory protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate laboratory administrative activities, including ordering research supplies and maintaining inventory.
  • Perform laboratory safety responsibilities and assist with ensuring compliance with institutional safety policies and procedures.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the laboratory and veterinary technicians to coordinate animal care and research activities.
  • Support additional laboratory operations and research-related duties as assigned.
